Jackson Gatlin Crawford, born in 1999 in Eutin, Germany, is a contemporary and conceptual painter based in Hamburg, Germany. Working primarily with oil paint and oil sticks, Gatlin Crawford is best known for constructing images with vibrant oil colors and multiple layers of paint, portraying various psychological processes through abstract forms.

During and after his master’s degree in clinical psychology and psychotherapy at the Medical School Hamburg in Germany, Gatlin Crawford deepened his exploration of psychological conflicts and human emotions in relation to their perspectives on life and socialization, including his own. His paintings are heavily influenced by psychoanalytical theories of Freud, Lacan, and Žižek, as well as various philosophical theories.

This complex interplay of psychological and philosophical elements characterizes the works of Gatlin Crawford, making them a profound investigation and representation of the human psyche.
